Foggy headlights are more dangerous than sharks!
Yellow, cloudy, and dull headlights all have something in common—they provide low visibility at night. In addition to making your headlights look old and dingy, headlights with oxidation reduce their brightness and block some of the light they emit.
Over time, plastic headlights experience oxidation buildup from the sun and weather. Whether driving during the day or night, headlights are essential for oncoming traffic to see the approaching vehicles and to find their way when it is dark.
Oxidation on headlights can be a safety issue. It can dim car lights, making a vehicle less visible to oncoming traffic. That dimness can also decrease the driver's field of vision. A limited range of vision, especially at night on an unknown road, can be an accident waiting to happen.
